IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED
"So why did you come back?"
Now, if you've been following me for a while, you know all about my story and the journey that lead me to this point. If you're just tuning in, let me help you get caught up.
Previously, on Aintbritfunny.....
Lived in Chicago 6 years. Graduated college. Got a full time job. Hated the full time job. Got a sublease. Moved back to St. Louis. Got two jobs. Traveled a lot with one of those jobs. Saved money. Bought a car. Saved a lot more money. Packed the car up. Moved to LA. Killed a bunch of roaches. Spent a bunch of money. Cried a bunch of tears. Two months passed. Packed the car up. Moved back to St. Louis. Got a few jobs. Saved money. Moving to Chicago.
Look, I'm not going to lie to ya'll. When I first got home from LA, I was a mess. I was tired, physically and emotionally drained. I felt defeated and honestly, embarrassed. For all these years, I had made these big plans to move across the country to follow my dreams. Anyone who knew me, knew that was my main goal. Now, here I was. Walking back into my mother's house after two months, literally, with tears in my eyes because it didn't work out for me. Well, maybe like three tears. Standard amount for a real G.
Hey, every artist isn't comfortable starving. And ya'll can tell by these thighs that I ain't missing no meals. Okay?
Listen, The moral of the story is, be confident in your journey. It's unique and it's your story. God specifically chose you for that particular role. Never let anyone tell you what you should be doing or what you should have done. Sometimes, we have to fall flat on our faces and take 10 steps back to get it right.
The other moral of the story is, if I come back two months later this time, it means I'm supposed to marry one of ya'll St. Louis dudes.
And neither one of us have time for that.
